The path leads back into the wood and past the fork in the road for Frasso, up to Alpe Ticcarello, Alpe Giavine and Alpe Scotto and then reaches Bocchetta di Scotto, located between Monte Ventolaro and Sasso delle Gaie. From here the track turns left on the north-east crest of the Ventolaro, a ridge that separates the Sesia Valley from Valle Sermenza. Pass above Alpe Casere, Colmetto and the hamlet of Partús, above the side of the Vallone delle Balme, to return on the crest and finally reach the pasture-friendly top of the Ventolaro after a few minutes.
