The oldest traces of man in northwest Italy ? They were found on Monte Fenera, (899 m), together with other important prehistoric and protohistoric finds.

This material, fundamental to the study of various forms of life in ancient periods, is conserved at the Palaeontology and Paleethnology Museum of Borgosesia

In 2012, a permanent exhibition dedicated to the recently discovered Supervolcano located in the Valsesia was opened.
