Alagna Valsesia - Walser Museum
Zona: High Valsesia
A window on the culture of the Walser people, who settled in Valsesia during medieval times, this museum is located in a three-storey house built in 1628. It is an ethnographic museum that helps visitors rediscover the lifestyle that these people of German origin used to lead. The museum lets visitors look closely at the way the Walser house in Alagna was built, but more than that, it is an authentic monument and a tool for reconstructing the sociological and anthropological aspects of the Walser culture. Inside, the house contains furniture, objects, utensils and equipment, clothing, decorative housewares, period pieces and everything needed for daily life.
