Free riding

Free riding 2000 metres of vertical difference with an infinity of variants: steep snow-covered channels and wide gorges covered with powdery snow fulfil the desires of every rider, even the most adventurous and expert. For this reason, Alagna has been awarded the title of "Free Ride Paradise” : and it really is the off-piste paradise, with the longest descents in the whole of the Alps . Free riding in Alagna is a unique experience, thanks to the natural, uncontaminated environment and the beauty of the landscape. In this sport, you move on ground with no indications: enthusiasts know that this takes a lot of practise and in-depth knowledge of the area, as well as awareness of the risks, especially those related to avalanches. The best solution to guarantee maximum safety, both personal and for others, is to check the snow conditions before setting off on an off-piste adventure, or contact the alpine guides.
Moreover, at the end of December 2009 opened the new lift which takes skiers from Passo dei Salati (2,970) up to 3,275 m. to the glacier of Punta Indren, where the Free Snow itinerary starts.
