Sali Vercellese

The original name place of this community is found in the longobardic word "sala”, which refers to a country maiden house with rural building annexes.

From the fourteenth century castle only the quadrangular layout remains, since during the last century radical renovations were started. Encircled by a moat and with three towers and as many entrances, the castle must have been used from the beginning to store agricultural products and not as a military fortress.

Still nowadays the castle is used as farmyard and cannot be entirely visited.
