Balmuccia is situated on the Semenza riverbanks joined by a stone bridge. From Balmuccia the Valsermenza, also named Valpiccola, is slowly revealed to the visitor’s eye.

The Parish is dedicated to Saint Margaret and was built in the seventeenth century. The internal works supposingly by Antonio Orgiazzi are worth a visit. In the Guaifola hamlet oratory, dedicated to Saint Anthony and to Anthony of Padova, there are some paintings of Avendo and works of Orgiazzi.

A curiosity: in an area which stretches from the village of Balmuccia to Prato Sesia is collocated the Valsesian Supervolcano, which was active 290 million years ago.
