Campertogno – Religious Art Collection

Museums

ZonaHigh Valsesia

Popular worship generates small but great masterpieces which have to be protected: don Piercesare De Vecchi, the priest who created the Religious Art Collection, comprising no fewer than 500 pieces, in a room in the Parish Church in 1968, was fully aware of this. The collection includes paintings, gilded and multicoloured wooden sculptures, furniture, furnishings and sacred items in gold, taken from the churches and chapels of Campertogno.

The important library annexed to the museum houses 1300 volumes, including paper and parchment manuscripts dating back to the 16 th -17 th centuries, papal bills and texts printed between the 17 th and 19 th centuries.
