- From the Parish Church (mt.1200), follow the road straight on for about 1 km until you get to Merletti (mt.1271)-Wold: here you will find a large car-park where you must leave the car and follow on foot (or during the summer months, there is a shuttle bus available). Right after the small chapel of S. Antonio (St. Anthony), about 4 km from Alagna, the n. 206 path begins: at first, the mule path winds along a flat tract alongside the river, then a little before the Alpe Stiga there is a long series of steps, leading up to the Rifugio Pastore . This is located in a large spacious meadow apart of the Alpe Pile (mt 1575.), where it is possible to enjoy a spectacular view of Monte Rosa 's south side.

- Otherwise, it is also possible to get to the Alpe Pile by following along the paved road (suitable for vehicles) beyond the small chapel of S. Antonio to the large square of Acqua Bianca mt.1497(White Water), where the Acqua Bianca waterfall breaks out, guiding to the path located at the end of the square. Almost immediately after starting out on the route, you will come across path n. 207a which leads to Passo del Turlo (the Turlo Pass), where it is possible to admire the Caldaie del Sesia (the cauldron of the Sesia), and which then divides and takes you to the Rifugio Barba Ferrero mt.2230 located at the Alpe Vigne.
