Departure from Alagna. Past the Church and Piazza degli Alberghi, take the first, steep carriage road on the left, up to the village of Piane. That is the start of the path marked by the trail sign no. 205: entering the broad-leaved forest, you get to the beautiful village of Vittine and the walk continues under the open sky until Alpe Seiwji. Walking along path no. 2055, it takes approx. 20 min to get to Pianalunga, the arrival point of the cable car from Alagna; carry on towards Col d'Olen, choosing between the wide road designed as ski track or the panoramic path that crosses Valle dell'Olen. Proceeding among the stone quarries, pay attention to the crossroads and take path 205b to finally get to Passo Foric, which offers a stunningly beautiful view over the Monte Rosa massif, Valle d'Olen and Valle d'Otro. After a well-deserved break in an enchanting environment, the descent finally begins along path no. 203b leading to Otro. The very first village you run into is the alpeggio (mountain pasture) of Pianmisura, from where you have to start following path no. 203; then Frazione Weng, whose house roofs can be seen just below the path; Scarpia, Dorf e Follu, where you can find the Chiesetta della Madonna delle Nevi. Now close to the returning path, from Follu you can enjoy the view of Ciucche and Feglierec; another 1-hour walk will take you back to Alagna.
